Peter Blos came from Bavaria as a young man, where his
father was a portrait painter of international note. Married to a Californian,
he has taken the United States as his adopted country, Blos won an honorable
mention in the Oakland Art Gallery's 1953 annual exhibition of oil paintings
and sculpture. In 1951 he won first prize at the Oakland "Annual"
and won the Anna Klumpke Award at the Western Artists' Show at San Francisco
in 1950.
